Cultural things in Chatswood.

Do you know that since rebuilding the council area the library etc, the Chatswood cultural

centre has become a meeting place.

This is the meaning of Chatswood, the Concourse where this has been built is the happening place for the cultural meetings, the cultural entertainment and the meeting of people.

Chatswood when it was with the Aboriginal people the Cammeraygal Tribe.  The Cammeraygal are  clan people.  The Concourse of Chatswood is where they met –  it is all significant and part of the heritage of Chatswood.

The new council chambers and the Civic Centre house about 850 people, and the accustics are good

They hold orchestral recitals, plays, etc.  very comfortable.  The hall is modern and comfortable..

The whole place has been designed to make the theatregoer enjoy their time at  the concert.  It certainly did with us.

We also had dinner prior the recital – we chose a restaurant out of the myriad of restaurants available to have dinner.

We had a great evening  and really enjoyed ourselves.

We have been back to the the venue a couple of times for different shows.

They have comedy lunch time recitals.

Also in the complex is the Library, which has many books,  this library is also joined with other local libraries, if you are unable to find the book you are looking for, this can be procured from one of the other libraries for you.

The area outside the complex is geared for coffee with friends, children can run around and enjoy themselves.

There is an outdoor Urban screen which is programmed for live sporting events, eg the Rugby World Cup news and national events and live broadcasts that have been sold out and more people would like to view the programme.  The screen can also show digital art and open air cinema, ideal in the summer holiday periods.

The whole complex is brilliant and exactly what this area of Sydney required.  It is close to the city and close for the nearby suburbs, and the locals of Chatswood.

We have certainly used most of the facilities around this area, and will do so in the future.

I would be interested to hear what everyone else thinks on this brilliant area and the forethought that the planning people put into the property before they commence building.

Transport to Chatswood is brilliant, with buses, trains and cars.

Many companies have their offices in Chatswood, which is good for the area.
